Natural Resource Management Program

What will I learn?

A Natural Resource Manager works to protect wildlife, plants, water and/or soil in an area. They may do this by overseeing conservation activities or following government regulations for area management. Managers may help develop plans for land use. They may work in the field conducting experiments or making observations about the land use.

Students in this program learn about animal science, agroecology, chemistry, geology, soils, range management as well as complete a research capstone project. The program also includes general courses needed to transfer to a four-year institution. It is intended for students who plan to transfer to obtain a bachelor鈥檚 or master鈥檚 degree.

 

Associate of Science

The Natural Resource Management equips students with skills in plant/crop, soil and livestock management as well as preservation and use of natural resources. This program features a hands-on, outdoor-focused, research-based curriculum.

This program is designed to allow students the option to pursue a bachelor's degree in resource management at a four-year institution.

Agriculture Activities 

Students have to opportunity to participate in clubs like the livestock show team, livestock judging team, ranch horse team, block and bridle club, intercollegiate horse show association team and  in addition to industry field trips and internships.
